About Product
A single-tank water softener works through a process called ion exchange to remove hardness minerals like calcium and magnesium from the water supply. As raw water enters the system, it passes downward through a pressure vessel filled with negatively charged resin beads, which attract and trap the positively charged mineral ions while releasing harmless sodium ions into the water. Over time, the digital control valve mounted on top tracks water usage via an integrated flow meter, automatically triggering a regeneration cycle when the resin becomes saturated. During this cycle, a concentrated brine solution from an external salt tank is drawn into the main vessel to flush out the captured minerals and replenish the resin bed, ensuring a continuous supply of softened water throughout the plumbing system.
