Southern Rural Water: Excellence in Rural Water Management Since 1995 Southern Rural Water (SRW) is committed to achieving our vision of providing "Great value for customers and community through excellence in rural water management" across Victoria. Our History and Accountability Our current organization, Southern Rural Water, was officially formed on 1 July 1995 through the combination of two water authorities in southern Victoria. This structure followed the dissolution of the Rural Water Corporation in 1994, which itself traced its roots back to the State Rivers and Water Supply Commission of Victoria, established in 1907. This history of reform ensures our focus remains on providing transparent and accountable services, including reliable Water trading Southern Rural Water operations. We strategically involve our community at the strategic, project, and operational levels, ensuring our decision-making is informed and transparent. Utilizing global models like the IAP2 Public Participation Spectrum, we work to build confidence, generate trust, and promote a shared understanding of critical water resource decisions in Southern Victoria. We define 'community' broadly, including our customers, residents, stakeholders, and Traditional Owners, ensuring all voices contribute to our operations.
