The multi-step purification process operates through distinct phases: Initial Filtration: Water first travels through carbon and electrolyte media filters designed to trap and extract heavy metal contaminants. Ion Exchange: Next, the supply moves through a specialized resin bed. During this stage, hard calcium and magnesium ions swap places with soft ions embedded within the resin beads. Final Purification: The water flows through successive layers of KDF, garnet, and quartz media to complete the softening and refining process. Automated Recharging: An isolated brine tank supplies sodium solution, enabling the system to automatically perform self-cleaning cycles and replenish soft ions every 2,200 gallons.
