About this product

Water softeners work by passing water through a resin bed. The resin attracts and captures hardness minerals like calcium and magnesium, effectively cleaning the water. When the resin is full, the system automatically begins a regeneration cycle, triggered by the amount of water used. During regeneration, a brine solution flows over the resin to remove the captured minerals, which bind to the brine's sodium. Finally, the resin is rinsed to ensure no excess salt remains before the system returns to softening water.
