The Rustbuster is an in-line iron removal system designed to be installed before a water conditioner. It is a maintenance-free system that requires no salt or chemical additives. Instead, it automatically backwashes using only fresh water. The system's key feature is its air injector, which oxidizes the iron in the water, turning it into rust particles that the filter can easily trap. By removing iron, the Rustbuster protects the water softener from build-up, thus extending its lifespan. It also effectively eliminates the tastes and odors associated with iron and sulfur. The Quicksilver Rust Buster Iron Removal System is capable of removing up to 25 PPM of iron and up to 2-3 PPM of sulfur. With no filters to change, it requires no periodic maintenance.
