The Water Softener B.M. Wright Well & Pump Service functions through an automated ion-exchange process designed to remove mineral hardness from the incoming water supply. Hard water enters the blue resin tank, where calcium and magnesium ions are physically trapped by negatively charged resin beads and replaced with sodium ions, delivering softened water to the plumbing system. Once these beads become completely saturated with hardness minerals, the digital control valve at the top of the cylinder automatically initiates a regeneration cycle, drawing a highly concentrated brine solution from the adjacent white salt tank. This saltwater wash strips the accumulated calcium and magnesium off the resin, flushes the mineral waste down the floor drain, and replenishes the beads with fresh sodium ions so the water softener can seamlessly resume its filtration process.
